TYPES OF PLASTIC PIPE EXTRUSION MACHINES
Generally, the plastic pipe extrusion machine is also known as the plastic pipe extruder. This machine is mainly used to produce plastic pipes through the process of extrusion. The plastic pipe extrusion machines are available in different types of extruders, including single-screw extruders, co-kneaders, double-screw extruders, gear pumps, and others.
SINGLE-SCREW EXTRUDER:
The primary component of a plastic pipe extrusion machine is the screw, barrel, and pump or gearbox. The screw and barrel function to melt and homogenize the plastic. The pump or gearbox regulates the material's feed into the die, generating the pressure needed to shape the material through the die.
CO-KNEADER:
The working principle of co-kneaders is similar to that of single-screw extruders. Co-kneaders have two parallel screws working in a reverse direction to each other. This unique feature enables them to knead the materials extensively. Consequently, co-kneaders achieve higher temperatures and better homogenization of the plastics.
DOUBLE-SCREW EXTRUDER:
Compared to single-screw extruders, double-screw extruders achieve better results in terms of material conveying, melting, and mixing due to their rotational and directional reverse movement.
GEAR PUMP:
It is a positive displacement pump that consists of two gears, namely, the driving and the idler gear. When the driving gear turns, the idler gear turns, and the liquid gets pumped out. The working principle of a gear pump is to create cavities between the two gears and then pump the liquid by continuous rotating, hence extruding the liquid plastic out.
MONOBLOCKS:
The main components of a mono block extrusion machine include an extrusion unit, die, cooling tank, clamp unit, cutting unit, and control panel. As the name suggests, a mono block machine is unique because all of its parts are made from a single block of material. The die in a mono block extrusion machine is made directly into the machine.
MUELLER MACHINE:
The roll change in a Mueller machine is very easy and does not take long. Generally, around four to five sections are produced in a Mueller machine. A liquid mixture is processed in the machine, which can include anything from oats to PVC pipes.
